Today, Saturday, in the 20th round of the Spanish League, Barcelona lost two valuable points, with a draw against its host Granada, with a goal each.
Luc de Jong advanced for Barcelona in the 57th minute, and Antonio Puertas equalized for the Andalusian team in the 89th minute.
Barcelona raised its score to 32 points in sixth place, to waste the opportunity to jump to third place in the La Liga table.
Granada remained in twelfth place with 24 points.
First half events
Barca started the match with a different combination in all lines and scored an early goal by Luke de Jong. But the referee canceled it for offside.
Barcelona then continued to threaten its opponent’s goal. But with ineffective attempts by its strikers, Osman Dembele, Ferran Gutgla, and Luke de Jong.
As for the hosts, they were unable to threaten Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal throughout the first half.
Second half events
Barca’s first threat was from a Macisch shot at the start of the second half.
Barcelona players played recklessly and got more yellow cards. While Clement Lenglet took the place of Eric Garcia due to the latter’s suffering from an injury.
The Catalan team translated its relative advantage with a goal scored by Luc de Jong with a header, taking advantage of a perfect cross by Dani Alves.
