Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel expressed his happiness not to read the criticism leveled at Mason Mount, the team’s player after he missed the opportunity to achieve a goal against Liverpool.

Chelsea lost the League Cup final to Chelsea on penalties, 11-10, after a 0-0 draw in normal and overtime.

“No one is to blame for wasting an opportunity and I’m happy not to read too closely about Mount,” Tuchel said at a news conference on Tuesday.

And he continued, “The person who did not want to miss the opportunity the most is Mason. Of course, you should be sure of that. Mason had a great opportunity to decide the fate of the match, but he is in good shape. He was in special places on the field, and this is what we want.”

And about Hakim Ziyech and his position on facing Luton Town tomorrow, Wednesday, in the FA Cup, he said: “Hakim is not available and has not trained with us, and he will miss tomorrow’s match.”

When asked whether the FA Cup is the best chance to win the title of the current season, he replied, “Well, the best chance was last Sunday because we should not think about the next final until we think about the next game and that starts tomorrow.”

Chelsea is the third most FA Cup winner with eight times, equal to Tottenham.

The last final that Chelsea won was in 2018, while the last final they lost was in 2021.
