Luis Diaz starts in the front row alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.
Half-time
Liverpool went to the pitch at the Amex Stadium on a bright and beautiful day in Brighton,
hoping to maintain their title charge.
The home team got off to a good start.
Brighton comfortably outpassed Liverpool’s defence and forced many last-second clearances.
Jol Matip made one such stop in the sixth minute.
March crossed the ball into the box after Mac Allister twisted past Fabinho.
Matip snatched it to prevent Brighton from taking an early lead.
Liverpool took roughly 15 minutes to wake up and work their way back into the game,

came forward to meet the ball.
Diaz was the first to arrive and put the ball in the empty net.

Sanchez threw himself into Diaz, striking him across the face.

The goal stood,
but so did Sanchez’s performance in goal for Brighton.
For the remainder of the half,
Liverpool held on to their lead without scoring another goal.
The closest they came was in the 43rd minute,
when Mohamed Salah wriggled his way past
the Brighton defence and attempted a shot from a very narrow angle that went wide.
Appeals for a penalty were ignored,
and the two teams exited the tunnel with Liverpool
