Saint-Germain stumbles with a disappointing tie

After a disappointing showing by the reigning champion in the two teams’ match today, Saturday, in the tenth round of the French League, Paris Saint-Germain tripped with a goalless draw against its host Reims.
Prior to playing rival Olympique Marseille in the Clasico in the upcoming round of “League One,” PSG missed an opportunity to close the gap on the lead.

Reims gained a crucial point, raising its score to 8 points in the fourteenth position, while

the Paris behemoth increased its score to 26 points at the top, trailing Marseille with 23

points.

The performance of the Parisian club, which was impacted by the choice of its coach,

Christophe Galtet, to make five changes to the basic formation in order to make up for

absences and injuries and to rest some players, was inconsistent.

The Reims “Diouf” goalkeeper was alert in stopping a dangerous shot from Fabian Ruiz and

total isolation from Kylian Mbappe, while Mokelly’s effort flew over the crossbar. PSG

periodically attacked his opponent’s goal.

Mbappe struggled to keep up with his attacking teammates Carlos Soler and Pablo Sarabia

for the majority of the first half.

Ramos was careless

The hosts were not content to only observe as Loco and Lope squandered two opportunities

to score over the crossbar and Donnarumma narrowly blocked another attempt from

Montessi.
Sergio Ramos, a senior defender for Paris, was dismissed in the 41st minute after collecting two consecutive yellow cards after protesting the official’s decision to call a foul on him.
Vitina started the second half in Verratti’s place to prevent Verratti from receiving a red card, but Reims nearly suffered a deadly blow when Zenelli fired a dangerous shot that Donnarumma narrowly missed.

The goalie comfortably saved a free kick from Soler, who came in to replace Neymar Jr., who had frequently threatened PSG from his opponent’s goal. Soler also had another opportunity after an intricate Mbappe pass, which he curiously missed.
