Today, Monday, the International Football Association (FIFA) issued several important decisions regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The most important of these decisions is to allow foreign players and coaches in Russian and Ukrainian clubs to suspend their contracts until the end of June.

Officially, FIFA allows foreign players and coaches in Russia and Ukraine to suspend their contracts

The decisions published on the official FIFA website were as follows:

Coaches and Players in Ukrainian clubs have the right to suspend their contracts directly until the end of next June.

Players and coaches in Russian clubs have the right to suspend their contracts directly until the end of next June

if no agreement is reached with the administrations of their clubs.

Any Player has the right to move to other clubs and register in their lists until the 7th of next April, even if the transfer market is closed.

A club may only include a maximum of players to maintain the integrity of the competitions.

Minor players can transfer to any club even if they are under the age of 18.

Those decisions came in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last week.

FIFA and the European Football Association “UEFA” had decided earlier to exclude Russian clubs and teams from all sports competitions.

As a result, Spartak Moscow was excluded from the Europa League round of 16

In addition, the Russian national team was denied the right to participate in the play-offs for the 2022 World Cup European qualifiers.
