Betis defeats Vallecano at home and sets foot in the cup final

Real Betis came from behind to defeat Rayo Vallecano 2-1 in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg in Vallecas tonight. Alvaro Garcia scored Rayo’s lead in the fifth minute only, but Borja Iglesias restored Betis to the equalizer in the 26th minute. Then William Carvalho managed to win the match with Golazzo in the 68th minute.

Rayo beat Guijuelo, Bergentinos, Mirandes, Girona and Mallorca to reach this far in Spain’s oldest national competition. Betis beat FI Alicante, Talavera, Real Valladolid, Seville and Real Sociedad to reach the Spanish capital tonight.
