Inter Milan secured an important victory against Sassuolo at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, winning 4-2 in the 35th round of the Italian League. The game saw an impressive performance from Inter Milan’s striker, Romelu Lukaku, who scored two goals and played a key role in the team’s victory.
First Half
The match started with an early chance for Sassuolo, as David Frazzi got a through ball that he launched into the area before he fell, calling for a penalty kick. However, the referee did not see a violation.
Inter Milan responded with a long pass to Lukaku, who fired a powerful shot, but defender Ruan Tresoldi put his foot to push the ball out of the field. The referee canceled a goal from Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi, who scored after a cross from the right passed by everyone to reach Francesco Lorient on the left.
Inter Milan continued to push forward, but Sassuolo exploited the absence of defensive control from Inter and created some chances of their own. Matias Henrique met a cross from the right with a header that passed along the left post of Inter Milan’s goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic.
Inter Milan almost took the lead in the 36th minute when Lautaro Martinez received a perfect cross from Federico Dimarco and turned it with a header that passed just above Andrea Conselli’s crossbar. However, the first goal of the match came from Lukaku in the 42nd minute. After a long pass from Danilo D’Ambrosio, Lukaku received the ball outside the penalty area, spun past Tresoldi, and fired a missile into the net.
Second Half
In the second half, Inter Milan continued to dominate, and Martinez almost scored a goal in the first minutes of the half but fired a shot higher than the goal. Dimarco also came close to adding a second goal with a missile from the 6-yard area, but Sassuolo’s defender, Vlad Chiriches, hit the ball with his foot and went out for a corner.
