¡Liverpool sighs with relief after securing a crucial victory

In the second round of Group A of the Champions League competition on Tuesday night, ¡Liverpool defeated its visiting Ajax 2-1.

not count anything. Moments later, Jota struck a ball from the edge of the penalty area, and

Again, Van Dyck came close to scoring for Liverpool in the 51st minute, but Tsimekas’ free

kick beat out his header.

Elliott and Jota were replaced in the Liverpool lineup by Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez,

and Ajax lost the chance to progress in the 75th minute when Blind’s header from Tadic’s

cross went just wide of the far post.

When Nunez followed Salah’s pass while crawling next to the far post in the 83rd minute,

Liverpool came dangerously close to scoring.
