Man City overcomes Fulham with a late goal
In the 15th round of the English Premier League, Man City overcomes Fulham with a late win, 2-1, on Saturday night at the Etihad Stadium.
Julian Alvarez of City scored the game’s first goal in the 17th minute. Andreas Pereira of
Fulham then tied the score from the penalty spot in the second half. Erling Halland then
scored the game’s winning goal (90 + 5) from the same spot.
As a result, City increased its score to 32 points, temporarily overtaking Fulham for first
position in the standings, while Fulham’s score remained at 19, keeping them in eighth place.
Alvarez followed up on a cross from De Bruyne with a header that went just wide of the post
in the third minute, giving City their first shot of the game.
In the ninth minute, De Bruyne fired a shot from outside the penalty area; Leno assisted in a
corner kick; in the thirteenth minute, Gundogan fired a shot from the edge of the box; Leno
assisted in another corner kick.
Alvarez received Pea from Gundogan in the 17th minute, then struck a tremendous shot
from within the penalty area that touched Lino’s fingers, hit the crossbar, and finally found
the back of the net.
After Cancelo had impeded Wilson and the match official had shown him a red card for his
actions, Fulham was given a penalty kick in the 26th minute, dealing a severe blow to City.
In the 28th minute, Pereira successfully kicked Fulham with an unique ground shot to Ederson’s right.
After a little calm, City re-entered the game with a shot from Grealish from the left side of
the penalty box in the 42nd minute, but his attempt missed the target.
