NEW! Messi signs two-year Paris Saint-Germain deal after leaving Barcelona
Lionel Messi joins fellow superstars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain
After leaving Barcelona, Lionel Messi signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 34 year transaction still has the third year option.
Messi left Barcelona to become the only club he played for, because they couldn’t afford a new deal under La Liga’s financial fair play rules.
“I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my career in Paris. The club and its vision fit perfectly with my ambitions,” said the Argentine star.
“I know how talented the players and staff are here. I’m determined to work with them to create something great for the club and the fans. I can’t wait to set foot at Prince’s Park.”
PSG President Nasser al-Khelaifi said: “I am very happy that Lionel Messi has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain. We are proud to welcome him and his family in Paris.
” He made no secret of his desire to continue progressing to the highest level and winning the trophy. The club’s ambitions are, of course, the same.
“Leo joining our world-class team confirms the relevance and success of our recruitment. Together with our great coach and his staff, I look forward to seeing our team make history for all our fans around the world.”
