How Real Madrid won

The match began with pressure from the royal team, who tried to threaten Granada’s goal with several attempts. Through Benzema and Vinicius, but without real danger.

Marco Asensio scored the lead, in the 19th minute, when he received a pass deep from his teammate. Toni Kroos, and went off and shot down the right of goalkeeper Maximiano.

Nacho Fernandes doubled the score for Real Madrid, in the 25th minute, taking advantage of a cross into the box, firing straight into goal.

Granada’s Luis Suarez pulled one back in the 34th minute, when teammate Jonalones cut the ball from Vinicius Jr., passing for the first who fired a shot that hit a Meringue player, before landing Courtois.

Casemiro almost accidentally scored against Real, in the 39th minute, when the Granada player sent a cross. Which the Brazilian met with his head, to be saved by Courtois.

Luis Suarez tried to score his side’s equalizer, in the 45th minute, taking advantage of a foul pass from the Meringue defence. But struck alongside the right post.

Vinicius Junior managed Real Madrid’s third goal, in the 56th minute, following a kick-off from Karim Benzema who sent a cross to Luka Modric, who in turn passed it to the Brazilian to make it into the empty net.

The referee of the match had the most famous red card, in the face of Granada’s Muncho in the 67th minute, following a violent tackle against Vinicius Jr. Before he fired Granada coach Robert Moreno for objecting to the decision.

Granada goalkeeper Maximiano was impressed in the save for a shot from Rodrigo, in the 74th minute.

Ferland Mendy added Real’s fourth goal, in the 75th minute. When he conceded a pass deep from Casemiro, only for the Granada keeper to shoot down his left.

Granada tried in the closing minutes to narrow the deficit, but to no avail, for Meringue to emerge a winner (4-1).
