Senegal won the African Nations Cup, for the first time in its history, at the expense of Egypt 4-2 on penalties, after a 0-0 draw in the 120-minute final on Sunday.
Ahmed Sayed Zizou and Marwan Hamdi scored for Egypt, while Mohamed Abdel Moneim and Muhannad Lashin missed.
Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdo Diallo, Pampa Diang and Sadio Mane scored for Senegal, while Bona Sarr missed.
The match started with great excitement, as referee Victor Gomez awarded a penalty in favor of Senegal, after blocking Salio Cisse, but goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Jabal continued to shine and saved the penalty kick, which Sadio Mane shot in the 7th minute.

The Senegalese team continued to put pressure on the Pharaohs’ defense before Ismaila Sarr directed a shot that was saved by Abu Jabal.
