Serbia defeats Sweden thanks to a goal from Soccer-Jovic!

STOCKHOLM – Luka Jovic scored in the first half to give Serbia a 1-0 win over Sweden in their Nations League Group B4 match on Thursday,

as the Swedes suffered their second home defeat in a row.

Strahinja Pavlovic headed a corner back across goal to Jovic,

who reacted fast to hook the ball home past Robin Olsen just before the break to give the visitors the lead.

The Swedish offence, which was missing key first-choice defenders due to injury,

seemed short of ideas again as they failed to register a single shot on target, and the Serbs held on for an easy victory.

Serbia remained in second place in the group with six points,

one behind Norway,

who drew 0-0 with bottom-placed Slovenia in Oslo. On Sunday, the Serbs will go to Slovenia, while Sweden will play Norway in Oslo.
