Cameroon finished third in the African Nations Cup, after defeating Burkina Faso (5-3) on penalties, today, Saturday, in the match to determine the third and fourth places.

And the original time of the match ended in a draw (3-3).

Burkina Faso advanced with a goal scored by Steve Yago in the 24th minute, while the second goal came in the 43rd minute when Issa Kabore crossed a cross that collided with Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana and changed its direction before embracing the net.

Then Djibril Ouattara scored the third goal for Burkina Faso in the 49th minute.

On the other hand, Cameroon’s Stephen Bahcoin scored in the 71st minute and Vincent Aboubaker (two goals) in the 85th and 87th minutes.

In the penalty shootout, he scored for Cameroon, Vincent Aboubacar, Mommy Ngamaleo, Karl Toko Ekambi, Pierre Malong, and Ambrois Oyongo.

While Issa Kabore, Soumaila Ouattara and Steve Yago scored for Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Toure missed.

Burkina Faso lost to Senegal in the semi-finals (1-3), while Cameroon lost in the semi-finals to Egypt (1-3) on penalties, after the original and extra time ended in a goalless draw.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday when the Egyptian team meets its Senegalese counterpart in the final match.
