The sink of Brighton in a hot match! ………………. . . .

Pre-Match
Luis Diaz starts in the front row alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.

Half-time
Liverpool went to the pitch at the Amex Stadium on a bright and beautiful day in Brighton,

hoping to maintain their title charge.

The home team got off to a good start.

Brighton comfortably outpassed Liverpool’s defence and forced many last-second clearances.

Jol Matip made one such stop in the sixth minute.

March crossed the ball into the box after Mac Allister twisted past Fabinho.

Matip snatched it to prevent Brighton from taking an early lead.

Liverpool took roughly 15 minutes to wake up and work their way back into the game,

but the goal was still unexpected.

Matip, the Player of the Month in the Premier League,

was the one who found Diaz and beat the offside trap.

Diaz, along with the Brighton defenders and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez,

came forward to meet the ball.

Diaz was the first to arrive and put the ball in the empty net.

The aim, however, did not come without a price.

With a swinging arm,

Sanchez threw himself into Diaz, striking him across the face.

VAR seems to think that was fine.

The goal stood,

but so did Sanchez’s performance in goal for Brighton.

For the remainder of the half,

Liverpool held on to their lead without scoring another goal.

The closest they came was in the 43rd minute,

when Mohamed Salah wriggled his way past

the Brighton defence and attempted a shot from a very narrow angle that went wide.

Appeals for a penalty were ignored,

and the two teams exited the tunnel with Liverpool

leading by one goal.

Second Period
Neither team came out intending to dominate the second half.

The game gradually improved until Adam Lallana,

who had just been on the pitch for five minutes,

was injured in the 53rd minute. He just can’t seem to get a break.

Minutes later, Salah hit the crossbar,

and Mané overhit the rebound, sending it into the fans.

Bissouma handled the ball to deny Naby Keta after 60 minutes.

The following penalty was calmly dispatched,

giving him his 20th Premier League goal of the season.

This is his fourth consecutive season in which he has done so.

Since the Premier League’s inception in 1992,

he has also scored the club’s 2000th league goal.

Watch the amazing goals today!!

When Alisson collected the ball with his hands,

he did some type of fancy dance that kept the ball inside the 18-yard box.

Momentum took a few big steps out of the box,

but he swivelled his arms so the ball stayed within.

To be honest,

the referees seemed to reward Alisson’s acrobatic efforts to respect the rules more than the actual result.

Salah was replaced by Diogo Jota,

who appeared uneasy following his goal.

It’s unknown how serious the injury was, but it’s likely that he was taken out as a precaution.

Brighton almost equalised after 88 minutes.

Danny Welbeck took a terrific close-range attempt,

but Alisson extended out and deflected the ball away from goal.
