Egypt loses to Nigeria

On Tuesday Egypt opened their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 0-1 loss to Nigeria, at Romde Adjea Stadium, in the first round of Group D.
The goal of the encounter, Kelechi Iheancho in the 30th minute of the Eagles dominated the game. And they exploited the state of technical randomness displayed by the Pharaohs, led by coach Carlos Queiroz.
Nigeria took their tally to 3 points at the top of the group, before meeting Guinea-Bissau against Sudan.
First half events CAF
The Egyptian national team started, with an attempt by Mustafa Mohamed with a shot saved by the goalkeeper.
Pharaoh’s right-back Akram Tawfiq fell to injury and was substituted after 12 minutes, with Mohamed Abdel Moneim coming down in his place.
The Nigerian national team made an attacking start with control and possession. But the Pharaohs left the ball to the Eagles and tried to focus on the rebounds.
Simon set off from the left front, but Ahmed Hegazy saved the stand. And Simon sent a cross through without a follow-up.
Simon nearly netted the Pharaohs in the 26th minute from a quick attack led by Aribo. And the fast-paced Nigeria winger ended it with a shot next to the post after a dangerous solitary.
Egypt conceded a goal in the 30th minute through Kelechi Ihiancho’s shot in the box. After a repeated attack from the left front, to translate Nigeria’s Eagles superior in the first half-hour.

The Pharaohs’ first attempt came from a through pass from Zizou to Salah, who did not take advantage of it after being blocked by goalkeeper Okoye.
Involving Nigeria, Omar Sadiq at the expense of Taiwo Ioni in the 72nd minute, the Eagles also pushed Shidira Aguike in place of Shukwizi.
The Eagles pushed Simi Ajayi and Nwakale at the expense of injury-hit Kenneth Omuro and Iheanchu.
Zizou demanded a penalty after falling, but the referee counted it wrong against him after returning to video technology.
Nigeria’s defense, across from Abdel Moneim, cleared and Hegazy drew a shot above the crossbar.
The Egypt national team involved Mohamed Sharif at the expense of the Winch, while Nigeria paid Bayoubi in place of Simon.
