Modric, who earned his 150th cap in Croatia‘s 1-1 tie with France on Monday,
also signed a one-year contract a year ago.
He joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has since played 436 times for the Spanish giants,
winning the Champions League five times and three La Liga titles.
In April, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti stated, “Modric will conclude his career with Real Madrid.”
“I’m not sure when, but it’s everyone’s plan. It’s apparent that the club and management have no objections to extending his contract.”
