Real Madrid defeated Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt

Real Madrid defeated Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in Helsinki to win the UEFA Supercup for a record-tying sixth time.

At Olympiastadion, David Alaba opened the scoring in the 37th minute of the first half.

In the 65th minute, following a precise ball by Vinicius Jr. just beyond the area,

Karim Benzema increased the lead.

Karim Benzema extended the lead in the 65th minute following a superb ball by Vinicius Jr. just beyond the box.

Real was now tied with AC Milan and Barcelona, who each had five Super Cup victories, thanks to the victory.

Real Madrid’s fifth Super Cup victory ties them with Milan and Barcelona for the most ever. With goals from David Alaba and Karim Benzema, they easily defeated a feeble Frankfurt team.

The new offside system worked flawlessly, and the game was entertaining enough. I am at a loss for what more to say.

Frankfurt hasn’t really threatened to score aside from the early opportunity for Kamada. They are a good team, but Madrid are in an other league.

In a 2-0 victory, Benzema scored the second goal to surpass Raul as the club’s all-time leading scorer. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, with 450, has scored more goals for the team than he has (324).

With Thibaut Courtois making the saves and Benzema and Vinicius working together to score the goals,

Madrid performed as if they had never been away. On the 65th minute, Benzema scored off the Brazilian’s ball to extend Madrid’s lead.

This was a simple first step in Carlo Ancelotti’s plan to win all six trophies this year.

Madrid dominated without exerting much effort. The same team that defeated Liverpool in Paris was used,

and Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger witnessed from the sidelines how challenging it will be to make the team.

Thibaut Courtois rescued Madrid on minute 14 when Ferland Mendy mishandled the ball and a fast cross found Daichi Kamada.

The next to put Courtois to the test was Ansgar Knauff, whose crossshot was once more stopped by the Belgian.

With their defend deep and counter quickly strategy, Eintracht was more disruptive to the holders of the Europa League than Madrid.

But everything changed at 37 minutes.

Madrid, the Champions League champions, and Frankfurt,

the Europa League champions, could not duplicate the excitement of their first encounter.

Frankfurt posed a threat, especially in the first half,

but Madrid’s expertise and individual strength carried them to victory,

as they frequently did throughout their successful 2021–22 Champions League campaign.

With Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois facing up against Daichi Kamada in the 14th minute,

Frankfurt got the better of the opening exchanges.

When Benzema allowed Vinicius to curl past Kevin Trapp in the penalty area, Madrid almost scored, but Tuta successfully cleared the ball off the line.
