The Arsenal train continued its victories in the English Premier League by defeating its host Brighton (4-2) in an exciting match today, Saturday, in the 18th round of the competition.
The Arsenal quartet came through Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Edward Nketiah, and Gabriel Martinelli in the minutes (2, 39, 47, 71), while Kauru Mitoma and Evan Ferguson scored Brighton’s goals (65, 77).
The victory raised the balance of coach Mikel Arteta’s battalion to 43 points at the top of the standings, 7 points ahead of its closest competitors, Manchester City, while Brighton stopped at 8 points in eighth place.
early target
It didn’t take long for the artillery to reach Brighton’s net, as Saka succeeded in translating a quick attack for his team, ending it with a shot from which he scored the first goal.
Brighton launched its first serious attack on the visitors’ goal a quarter of an hour after the start of the match so that Trossard tried to fire a shot from outside the penalty area, but Ramsdale turned it into a corner with his fingertips.
And the Gunners goalkeeper returned to his goal with his fingertips, converting another shot, more powerful, from Solly Marsh.
Odegaard took advantage of the rebound of a ball from the landlords’ defense, to meet it with a left-footed shot directly from the edge of the penalty area, to enhance Arsenal’s progress minutes before the end of the first half.
Gunners Flood
The start of the second half was similar to the starting scenario of the match, as the Gunners managed to score another early goal less than two minutes later through Nketiah, who followed a ball that bounced off goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after a shot from Martinelli, to meet it directly into the net.
