As for Seville, he remained in the danger zone, as his score froze at 21 points in the sixteenth place in the ranking table, to become threatened with relegation.
Barca coach Xavi Hernandez faced great technical difficulties in the first half, as he received an early blow by injuring Sergio Busquets in the ankle after only 3 minutes, to replace Frank Casey.
The Catalan team imposed its style of possession of the ball, but without real danger, except for an opportunity for Polish star Robert Lewandowski, which was brilliantly saved by Yassin Bono in the 17th minute.
Javi, Pedri, Rafinha, and Frenkie de Jong, the keys to Barcelona’s play, found it very difficult to break through the defensive wall built by Seville coach Jorge Sampaoli.
Sampaoli relied on the (1/4/5) plan and came out tied in the first half, but his team seemed without attacking fangs in the absence of the seriousness of Youssef Al-Nusairi, Aconia, and Rakitic.
Sampaoli moved between the two halves to activate his attacking axes, as he involved Brian Khel and Lamela in place of Torres and Al-Nusairi, but to no avail or danger to the German goal, Ter Stegen.
On the other hand, the offensive effectiveness of the hosts increased, as Jordi Alba opened the score with a goal he scored after a pass from Frank Casey, and an attack started by Brazilian Rafinha.
The matter became more complicated for the guests after Acuña was injured, to be replaced by Lucas Ocampos, and before Sampaoli and his players could wake up, Barcelona scored their second goal through Javi after a pass from Rafinha.
The Seville team completely collapsed, and its lines disintegrated, as Moroccan goalkeeper Yassin Bono scored a third goal, scored by Brazilian Rafinha, after a distinguished teamwork, in which De Jong and Alba participated.
Xavi was reassured of victory, to start resting his players, as he involved Anso Fati and Marcos Alonso in the place of Javi and Ronald Araujo, then Baldi and Ferran Torres participated in the place of Alba and Rafinha.
And Seville sought to score an honorable goal in the last minutes, but the attempts of Ocampos and Rakitic were not enough, so Ter Stegen came out with a clean sheet and the Catalan giants won (3-0).
