Alonso will sign a deal that will last until June 30,

2023, and the contract’s penalty provision has been set at 50 million euros.

Alonso’s contract is regarded as the seventh for the Catalan club during a new market in the summer, following the signings of Hector Bellerin,

Rafinha, Jules Conde,

Frank Kessie, and Robert Lewandowski.

The 31-year-old experienced Spanish player played 212 games

in a variety of competitions with Chelsea, recording 29 goals and 23 assists.

At the news conference before the match against Seville,

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said: “A difficult encounter awaits us against Seville. We are aware of how challenging it is to triumph there. Lopetegui effectively leads his side. They score more points than we do, so we’ll aim to play our style and maintain possession of the ball.

In addition, Xavi stated the following about his role in his team’s summer Mercato:

“I feel comfortable today; the management has done a tremendous job. Our goal is to win every title this season,

so we need to prove that we have a competitive team. I believe that our transfer market was between between the best and the average.

After left back Marcos Alonso

cancelled his contract with his previous team,

Chelsea, Barcelona announced on Friday night that he had signed with them on a free transfer and a one-year deal.

A release clause in Alonso’s contract worth 50 million euros has been set,

according to a statement from Barcelona, which also confirmed that he will sign a deal through June 30, 2023.

Alonso was the eighth player the Catalan club acquired during the summer transfer window,

joining Hector Bellerin,

Rafinha, Frank Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Robert Lewandowski, and Jules Conde.

The 31-year-old experienced Spanish player played 212 appearances across several competitions for Chelsea, with 29 goals and 23 assists.

When asked about the next encounter against Seville,

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said:

“A difficult match awaits us against Seville,

and we know how difficult it is to win at their stadium. They score more points than we do,

so we’ll aim to play our style and maintain possession of the ball.

“I feel secure now, the management has done a tremendous job,”

Xavi said in reference to his team’s standing on the summer Mercato. This season, we want to win every single trophy possible, therefore we have to prove that we have a competitive team. I believe that our transfer market fell somewhere between the best and the average because we were unable to recruit another player.

The Catalan club continued, “The Spanish international player inks a contract with a 50 million euro penalty provision that runs through June 30, 2023.”

It’s interesting to note that some rumours said that Alonso’s move to Barcelona was a component of the deal that sent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang,

a striker for Blaugrana who represents Gabon, to the Blues.

The midfielder terminated his contract with Chelsea,

and the Catalan club announced in a statement that it had reached an agreement with him.

He clarified that Alonso will sign a deal with a 50 million euro penalty provision that runs through June 30, 2023.

After playing for Bolton,

Sunderland, and Fiorentina in the Italian League and the Premier League, respectively, Alonso spent six seasons playing for Chelsea.

Barcelona put a lot of effort into bolstering its ranks this summer following a season in which it experienced frequent losses, both locally and internationally.
