As the season draws to a close, BARCELONA!!! and Celta Vigo meet at the Nou Camp with

little to play for. Nonetheless, the match produced plenty of entertainment, as it often does

with these two, as Barcelona defeated Celta Vigo 3-1 thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick

Ousmane Dembele shone in the build-up, ripping the Celta Vigo left wing to shreds and

seeing the hosts score with their first three efforts on target of the encounter, as he has

done many times in 2022. Moreover Celta Vigo equalized early in the second half after Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter

Stegen made a mistake, which Igao Aspas converted. In the 58th minute, halftime substitute

Jeison Murillo sent off for a last-man foul, and that all the visitors had.

On the hour mark, Ronald Araujo went down off the ball after receiving a minor blow to the

head moments before. He required immediate medical attention, and he was eventually

taken off the field in an ambulance and taken to the hospital as players from both teams

waved medical personnel on.

In addition to Araujo’s potential absence, Xavi will have a selection headache against Getafe

next week, as the trio of Frenkie de Jong, Eric Garcia, and Jordi Alba all received yellow

cards, resulting in suspensions for the following match.

GOAL! 30th minute! Barcelona’s first major offensive move, and the game’s first goal! It’s all

thanks to Ousmane Dembele, who bursts free after clowning two defenders on the right

flank with a nutmeg. The Celta Vigo defense was all over the place as Dembele raced

towards goal, and he cut a ball to Memphis Depay alone on the penalty spot. Matias Dituro,

the visiting goalkeeper, should do better because Depay’s strike went directly at him and he

dove overtop of it, getting a touch but not enough.

Celta Vigo, 36th minute: CHANCE! Ter Stegen makes a crucial full-stretch stop to save

Gallardo’s effort from finding the bottom corner. Moments later, Ter Stegen makes another

spectacular save on Gallardo, whose header was not far enough out of reach.

GOAL! BARCELONA in the 41st minute! Celta Vigo’s defense is a complete disaster, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores a fantastic goal to double Barcelona’s lead! Depay produces the opportunity down the left edge of the 18-yard box, and when Nestor Araujo is unable to clear, it falls to Aubameyang, who slices an off-balance finish into the bottom corner.
Barcelona has had a low amount of chances, with only two attempts on target, but both have been successful.

Barcelona vs Celta Vigo: Half Time

GOAL! BARCELONA in the 48th minute! Ousmane Dembele was the creator once more, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the finisher once more. Barcelona is soaring right now, and Celta Vigo is putting up very little resistance.
Dembele has almost no pressure down the right flank, so he dribbles all the way down the field and into the box, where his easy cross to Aubameyang is deflected into the net. The entire game had almost no defensive pressure, and Aubameyang was wide open.
CELTA VIGO! 50th minute: GOAL! Ter Stegen makes a terrible error by passing the ball to an unwitting Araujo, and Celta Vigo profit! Barcelona blew a 3-0 lead the last time these two sides met. Could anything similar happen again?

69th minute: Celta Vigo has a chance! What a chance for the visitors to come back into it squandered! Celta Vigo is put through on goal after another defensive blunder, but the visitors’ attack is hesitant once more, and the chance is lost. After Araujo’s catastrophic injury, Barcelona must mentally recuperate.
77th minute: Barcelona has a chance! Riqui Puig has the ball in the net and celebrates by punching the air, but it is called out for offside. Eric Garcia returned from an offside position to interfere with play, and the decision was confirmed by a VAR review.

88th minute: BARCELONA HAS A CHANCE! On the right flank, Ousmane Dembele is impossible to stop. He beats Fran Beltran to the edge of the box and passes to Ansu Fati in the middle, but the youngster shoots wide of the near post with the goal gaping.
Dani Alves is replaced by Oscar Mingueza, who receives a standing ovation from the fans.
Due to the incident with Araujo earlier in the half, there will be 11 minutes of extra time. Barcelona has provided an update, stating that Araujo has been admitted to the hospital with a concussion.

Certainly Barcelona defeated Celta Vigo 3-0, with Ousmane Dembele scoring twice and Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang netting twice.
Above all
all thoughts are now focused on Ronald Araujo, whose terrifying head injury is causing serious concern. With so many players out due to injury or suspension, Xavi will have a difficult time selecting his team next week.
