Everton frustrates Chelsea with a deadly draw

Everton returned to a valuable draw against its host Chelsea (2-2) this evening, Saturday, at Stamford Bridge, in the 28th round of the English Premier League.
Chelsea Joao Felix (52) and Kai Havertz (76) scored a double, while Abdullah Doucoure (69) and Ellis Sims scored for Everton (89).
With that result, Chelsea raised its tally to 38 points in tenth place, while Everton raised its tally to 26 points in 15th place.
Chelsea started the match strongly, following Kovacic’s ball away from Everton’s defense inside the area in the fifth minute, to hit a powerful ball at the bird, which passed just past the post.
Havertz crossed from a corner kick taken by Chilwell in the 11th minute, hitting a header that went over the crossbar.
Everton appeared offensively for the first time in the 18th minute, with a powerful shot from McNeil from outside the area, which went over the crossbar.
Havertz tried to surprise Pickford with a ground shot from outside the area in the 20th minute, but the English goalkeeper caught it.
The match calmed down in the following minutes until Chelsea reappeared in the 34th minute with a ground kick from Felix from inside the area, which went easy in the hands of Pickford, so the first half ended in a goalless draw.
Chelsea started the second half strongly, with Havertz following up a cross from the left side in the 49th minute, blocking Pickford’s brilliance header in the response.
Chelsea opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, with a ground shot by Felix from inside the area, which hit the post and into the net.
Chelsea almost added the second goal in the 61st minute, with a shot from Kovacic from outside the area, which collided with Tarkovsky and changed direction, so that the crossbar slightly went to a corner.
From that corner, Fofana rose to a cross, hitting a header that went wide of the goal.
Everton managed to equalize in the 69th minute, after Tarkovsky crossed from a corner kick, passing the ball to Doucoure next to him, and the latter hit a header that Havertz tried to clear, but it crossed the goal line.
Chelsea searched to restore the lead again in the 72nd minute, with a powerful ground strike from Havertz from the right side of the penalty area, which Pickford caught.
Chelsea got a penalty kick in the 74th minute after James was hampered by Tarkovsky, and Havertz successfully executed it in the 76th minute, with a shot to the left of Pickford.
McNeil almost equalized the score for Everton in the 82nd minute, with a ground shot from the left side of the penalty area, which passed next to the post.
Everton scored the deadly equalizing goal in the 89th minute, bypassing substitute Sims, for Coulibaly, and alone with Kepa, hitting the ball into the net, to end the match in a draw (2-2).
