Bayern’s Early Pressure
Bayern began the match with their usual high-intensity style, putting Schalke under pressure from the start. Thomas Muller, in particular, was causing problems for Schalke’s defense, with a couple of early chances that almost found the back of the net. However, Schalke’s goalkeeper, Scheffolo, was on top form, keeping Bayern at bay.
Joshua Kimmich Steps Up
Bayern were eventually awarded a penalty after Musiala was obstructed in the box. Joshua Kimmich stepped up to take the spot-kick, and he made no mistake in converting it, doubling Bayern’s lead.
Serge Gnabry Takes Control
Serge Gnabry was once again in fantastic form for Bayern, with two goals to his name. He first scored in the 50th minute, dodging a Schalke defender before firing a creeping ground shot into the net. He then scored his second in the 80th minute, after being gifted the ball by defender Yoshida. Gnabry pounced on the opportunity and skillfully put the ball past the goalkeeper to score his second of the match.
