Lewandowski’s header levelled a win vs Inter Milan

The killer goal came with a minute left when Robin Gosens scored from Lautaro Martinez’ assist. That made it 3-2. Lewandowski’s header a minute later levelled it at 3-3 but this was a game that Barcelona vs Inter Milan! needed to win and win by two clear goals to gain the head to head advantage on the Italians.

They spent 150m euros in the summer and they are back where they were 12 months ago – on the canvass and this time with potentially an even bigger hole in their finances.

Watch the equalizer between Barca and Inter Milan now!

Inter had looked like winning once before in the game. Sergio Busquets lost the ball in midfield and when Hakan Calhanoglu launched it long to Lautaro Martinez he muscled away from Eric Garcia and buried his shot past Marc Andre ter Stegen scoring off both posts.

The Inter bench erupted and invaded the pitch to celebrate,

as they did with all three goals. Inter keeper Andre Onana was on the half way line to join the festivities. There was half and hour left but at 2-1 Barcelona looked beaten.

The got the equalizer with seven minutes left when Stefan de Vrij failed to clear a cross from the right and Robert Lewandowski scored past Onana.

But 2-2, 3-3 it didn’t matter. Barcelona had fallen short. If they beat Bayern Munich in a fortnight here there might be some hope but they still look like European lightweights for all that summer investment.

Barcelona’s Champions League hopes for the 2022-23 season hang by a thread. In what looked set to be a shocking turn of events

, Xavi’s side were nearly eliminated from the group stage on Wednesday, blowing a lead at home to Inter Milan,

only to rescue a late 3-3 draw to salvage a point and stay alive. While it is certainly better than a loss,

the point does very little for the team’s hopes of advancing from the group stage,

needing a minor miracle to get through to the knockout stage.

In this one, Barca nearly lost to Inter twice in a week’s span,

going down 2-1 after goals from Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez early in the second half after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring. But it was Robert Lewandowski’s first goal just under 10 minutes from time that saw the teams draw level. Robin Gosens then fired Inter into the lead in the 89th minute

before Lewandowski rescued a point in the 92nd minute with a fine-headed goal.
