Manchester United regained the tone of victories by defeating its guest Brighton 2-0, on Tuesday evening, in the match hosted by Old Trafford, which was postponed from the 18th round of the English Premier League.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the double in the 51st minute and Bruno Fernandes in the 97th minute.
With that result, Manchester United raised its score to 43 points to rise to fourth place, while Brighton’s balance froze at 33 points in ninth place.

United managed to open the scoring in the 51st minute, after McTominay snatched the ball from Bisoma, to reach Ronaldo, who dodged Webster, and then fired a missile from the edge of the area and into Sanchez’s net.
Brighton’s ordeal increased in the 54th minute, after the match referee declared the red card in Dunk’s face, after returning to the VAR technique, due to his obstruction of Ilanga, who was in a solitary situation.
United almost added the second goal in the 66th minute, after Fernandes sent a cross into the area, Ronaldo rose to it with a powerful header, Sanchez’s brilliance in deporting it to a corner kick.

United continued to waste the opportunities achieved, after Sanchez missed the ball pass, to be destroyed by Ronaldo, preferring to pass to Fernandez next to him inside the area, who was alone with Sanchez and hit the goalkeeper’s brilliance in stopping it in the 71st minute.
And United continued to wake up, after Ronaldo followed a cross from Fernandes in the 75th minute, shooting a header that just passed next to the post.
Contrary to the course of play, Moder almost stunned United by scoring a tie, after he hit a curved ball from outside the area in the 78th minute, hitting the crossbar.
Fernandez responded with deep penetration in the 81st minute, ending it with a powerful shot from the edge of the area, which Sanchez saved, followed by Maguire with a ground shot from inside the area, which was caught by the Brighton goalkeeper.
In the 90th minute, Welbeck rose to a cross from Lamptey, shooting a header that went over the crossbar.
Fernandez fired the mercy ball against Brighton by adding the second goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time, after Pogba made a quick foul as Brighton moved forward, so Fernandez was unique with Sanchez and managed to score in the net, ending the match with a United win (2-0).
