Jhon Arias grabbed the only goal after 14 minutes, earning Colombia a meeting with Switzerland in Vancouver. Both sides were forced into early changes by injury, with Luis Suárez coming on for Jhon Córdoba and making an instant impact — his cross being swept in by the unmarked Arias at the far post. Ghana failed to register a single shot in the entirety of the 90 minutes, finishing with an xG of just 0.26 compared to Colombia's 2.18. Luis Díaz twice came close to extending the lead in the second half but was denied by a narrow offside call and a fine save from Lawrence Ati-Zigi. Colombia will now face Switzerland in Vancouver in the Round of 16, while Ghana bow out at the Round of 32 stage.
