After Alex Meret stopped a Nunez header in front of the Kop, the rebound was eventually

over the goal line, and the Egyptian was there to knock it in.

After Meret had stopped a Virgil van Dijk header in the eighth minute of extra time, Nunez

scored another close-range goal.

Despite losing on Merseyside, the hot Napoli team still takes first place in Group A.

They came to Anfield on a streak of 13 straight victories.

Mohamed Salah give Liverpool a victory: Seconf half

In the second half of a close game, defender Leo Ostigard thought he had given the Italians

the lead, but VAR disallowed his header from a free-kick.

Due to Liverpool’s recent troubles, Klopp has begun to take actions that we haven’t really

seen him do during his time at Liverpool.

Usually so committed to his 4-3-3 system, even with the occasional modification, Klopp has

been lining up his teams in increasingly perplexing formations in an effort to manage their

physical exertion as well as to make up for the missing players and side cracks.

It’s a reasonable strategy, but when you’ve been so committed to a particular style of play

for so long, problems were bound to arise, which led to yet more issues, and so on.

Liverpool didn’t exactly return to form here, but at least they appeared reliable.
Because three of the major players in that evolution have been largely absent this season, it is reasonable to say that Klopp has failed to evolve his Liverpool squad over the years. However, you can still feel a great deal of sympathy for him in this regard.

Naturally, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are still out and won’t be seen before the World Cup, but Ibrahima Konate made his first appearance here since the 7-1 victory at Rangers and demonstrated why he will play a crucial role for Klopp moving ahead.
By the conclusion of last season, the Frenchman had established himself as Virgil van Dijk’s first choice partner; however, injuries have prevented him from doing the same for this season, so Klopp will be quite appreciative of his commanding performance today.
