PSG easily overtake Ulnoy
Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the French Cup round of 32 after easily beating Vigny Ulnoy (3-0), on Sunday, in the round of 64.
The away side recorded the first two goals of the penalty mark through Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi, in the 16th and 30th minutes. Before Mbappe added the third in the 51st minute.
The Parisian side started the game with a squad devoid of some high-profile names, led by Lionel Messi of Argentina. Whose manager Mauricio Pochettino prefers to be left out of the list with a view to resting him.
Saint-Germain’s seriousness emerged early with a shot on the birdie fired by Icardi from the confines of the box. But goalkeeper Jan Le Mo brilliantly turned it into a corner.
About 11 minutes into the game, Saint-Germain made it home with a Ramos shot followed by Icardi in goal. But the assistant referee signals an offside, only for the goal to be disallowed.
By the 16th minute, the referee conceded a penalty for the visitors. From which Mbappe scored the lead for his side.
A few minutes later, the post denied the Parisian team a reinforcement goal after Mbappe pulled the ball from the left, passing it towards Verratti, who faced it with a touch at the post.
Defender Marigard made a gag by pulling Mbappe out of his shirt inside the area. For the referee to concede a new penalty for the visitors, from which Icardi scored the second.
The start of the second half saw a longitudinal through ball from Verratti towards Icardi. Who met it with a straight shot on the birdie, but it wasn’t accurate enough.
Mbappe receives a pass from Dagba inside the Ullnoy penalty area, which he fires into the net, past his second team, and his third for his side.
Ulnoy missed the chance to cut back after Sambo conceded a cross inside the Saint-Germain penalty area. But met it with a poor touch, lodging the ball into Keylor Navas’ arms.
A few minutes down, substitute Ismail Gharbi almost made his mark quickly with a powerful shot but was brilliantly saved by the Ulnoy keeper.
