Rashford’s bullet carries United to the Europa League quarter-finals

Manchester United reached the quarter-finals of the European League, after its 1-0 victory over Real Betis, this evening, Thursday, at Pinto Villamarín Stadium, in the second leg of the round of 16.

The first leg ended with Manchester United winning 4-1 at Old Trafford.

In today’s match, Marcus Rashford scored the goal for Al Maneo in the 56th minute.

The first attempt came in the eighth minute in favor of Manchester United, with Casemiro following up a cross from a corner, hitting a header that passed next to the post.

Real Betis wasted a real opportunity to open the scoring after Juanmi received a through ball, to freed De Gea and hit a floor from inside the area, which passed by the goal.

United tried to snatch the lead in the first minute of stoppage time, with a shot from Pellestri from inside the area that hit the post, so the first half ended in a goalless draw.

Real Betis started the second half strongly, with a shot from Joaquin from the border of the area in the 46th minute, it went wide of the goal, and United responded with a shot from Rashford from inside the area in the 50th minute, which passed next to the post.

Al-Maneo missed a real opportunity to open the scoring in the 53rd minute, after Fernandez sent a magic pass to Rashford inside the area, to separate Silva and hit a ground ball that the Betis goalkeeper shone in stopping it.

In the 54th minute, Ayoze crossed from a corner kick, hitting De Gea’s header in the tackle.

And Rashford continued to waste easy opportunities after receiving a distinctive through from Fernandez inside the area in the 55th minute, to separate Silva, but he strangely shot wide of the goal.

Rashford succeeded in making up for the missed opportunities, opening the scoring in the 56th minute with a powerful shot from outside the area that hit the net.

Maguire almost added the second goal in the 62nd minute, following up on a cross from a corner kick, with a header that passed near the goal.

United continued to advance towards the Betis goal, with a pass from Fernandez inside the area in the 65th minute towards Sabitzer, who hit a ground ball that Silva saved.

Frustration dominated Betis after receiving the goal, and he almost received the second goal, after Sancho paved the ball for Vighurst inside the area, so that the latter hit a weak ball in the 70th minute that Silva caught.

In the 79th minute, Pezzella followed a cross from a corner kick, hitting a header that went wide of the goal.

Elanga followed a ball away from the Betis defense at the border of the area in the third minute of stoppage time, hitting the bird directly, which passed next to the post, to end the match with the victory of Man United.
