Argentina scored an important victory over Chile, 2-1, in the match that took place between them at dawn on Friday, in the fifteenth round of the South American qualifiers for the World Cup.
Captain Di Maria “in the absence of Messi” scored the goal for Argentina in the 9th minute after a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, Claudio Bravo, Chile goalkeeper, failed to stop it, and striker Ben Brereton equalized for Chile in the 20th minute after he took advantage of a wonderful cross about it with his head over Martinez goalkeeper Argentina, and Lautaro Martinez re-advanced Argentina again in the 34th minute from a follow-up shot from De Paul, which was blocked by Bravo, to find Martinez in the follow-up and put it in the net.
