Uruguay defeats Ghana and bids farewell to the World Cup through the narrow door

Uruguay defeated Ghana with two goals without a response, this evening, Friday, in the match that was held at Al Janoub Stadium, at the end of Group H in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, so that the two teams bid farewell to the tournament from the first round.

Giorgian de Arascaita scored the Uruguay double in two minutes (26 and 32).

Ghana started the second half strongly, with a shot from Bockarie from the right side of the penalty area in the 47th minute, which went past the post.

Uruguay players demanded a penalty kick in the 58th minute after Nunez was hampered by Amartí, and after the referee returned to the var technique, he decided not to count anything.

Uruguay tried to add the third goal in the 65th minute, after Pelistri received a pass inside the area, to hit a ball that passed just past the post.

Valverde appeared in the 70th minute, with a missile shot at the bird from outside the penalty area, and Zig shone in addressing it.

Quddous tried to rely on individual skills and manipulated three Uruguayan players before hitting a ball that went over the crossbar in the 71st minute.

Semeneo missed a real opportunity to reduce the difference for Ghana, with a ground shot from inside the area in the 79th minute, which passed just past the post.

And Quddous followed him with a powerful shot from the edge of the area in the 81st minute, Rochette excelled in banishing it to a corner kick.

Gomez hit a powerful ball from outside the area in the fifth minute of stoppage time, which was saved by Zig.

And in the seventh minute of stoppage time, Cavani paved the ball to Coates inside the area, to hit a direct ball that passed next to the post, and the match ended with Uruguay winning with two goals without a response.
