Chelsea put off-field issues in unbelievable match!!

Chelsea!’s off-field problems were no match for struggling Norwich City on Thursday, as the Blues won 3-1 at Carrow Road.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the British government stated that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich‘s assets had been frozen as part of penalties against high-profile Russian individuals and entities.

These fines were issued precisely as Abramovich was negotiating to sell Chelsea, so the club’s future is unknown, but on the pitch, things were mostly business as usual.

Chelsea went ahead after 14 minutes with to goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Mason Mount, but their second-half performance gave Norwich hope, with Teemu Pukki drawing one back from the penalty spot.

However, a Norwich comeback was thwarted late on as Kai Havertz put the game out of reach, keeping the Canaries in last place while Chelsea moved eight points clear of fourth-placed Arsenal.

Chelsea were always going to have chances against Norwich, given their terrible defensive record; they just didn’t expect an opener so fast!

Feeble In the third minute, Chalobah nudged home from close range following Mount’s ball, and it was 2-0 not long after.

Mount was on the edge of the box when Havertz brought the ball back to him, and with a drop of the shoulder, he found the top-right corner.

Chelsea’s pace waned after the interval, but their advantage was not threatened until the 69th minute, when Pukki slotted home a penalty after Chalobah handled a cross from lively replacement Milot Rashica.

Norwich’s dreams of a late comeback were shattered in the 90th minute, as Havertz drilled a goal into the top-left corner.

Chelsea beat bottom club Norwich as Mason Mount scored one and made another on the day his club’s long-term future was thrown into uncertainty.

Travelling fans at Carrow Road chanted the name of Roman Abramovich hours after it was announced Chelsea’s Russian owner had been sanctioned by the UK government.

On the pitch, Chelsea‘s players responded to one of the most dramatic days in the club’s 117-year history by storming into a 2-0 lead

inside the opening 15 minutes on their way to a fourth successive league win.

Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring in the third minute after meeting Mason Mount’s corner before Kai Havertz set up England’s Mount for his eighth goal of the season.

but Havertz sealed the points with a late third for Chelsea.

While the win strengthened Chelsea‘s grip on third spot,

Norwich are five points from safety with just 10 games left.

Before the game, captain Cesar Azpilicueta said,

“This is not a typical day,” and Tuchel said there was “a lot of noise” around the club.

spilling over onto the pitch were swiftly alleviated
