Barcelona escapes from Beti’s trap.. and moves away from the top of La Liga

Barcelona achieved a valuable victory over Real Betis (2-1), on Wednesday evening, in the postponed 17th round of La Liga, at the “Benito Villamarin” stadium.

He scored for Barca Rafinha and Lewandowski in the 65th and 80th minutes, while Jules Conde scored by mistake in his own net in the 85th minute.

With this victory, Barcelona raises its tally to 50 points at the top of the La Liga standings table, and Betis’ balance froze at 31 points in sixth place.

The match started with pressure from Barcelona, and Robert Lewandowski hit a powerful ball that hit the defense in the 9th minute.. while Real Betis’s first attempt came in the 10th minute, with a shot from Luiz Henrique that Barcelona player Baldi dispersed to the corner.

The Betis players demanded a penalty kick in the 11th minute, due to a strong tackle from Baldi, but the referee refused to count anything.

Ter Stegen, the Barcelona goalkeeper, shone in blocking a shot from Nabil Fekir in the 17th minute.. while Betis player William Carvalho shot a powerful ball that passed over Ter Stegen’s goal in the 19th minute.

Rafinha scored the lead goal for Barcelona in the 33rd minute, but the match referee canceled it due to offside.

Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva shone in cutting a cross that Pedri passed into the area in the 36th minute.

The first half ended in a goalless draw… At the start of the second half, Pedri hit a powerful ball, which was blocked by Roy Silva in the 48th minute.

Nabil Fekir, the star of Betis, hit a ball from outside the penalty area, which Ter Stegen easily caught in the 55th minute.

And Rafinha managed to score the goal for Barcelona in the 65th minute, as he received a cross from Baldi inside the penalty area and easily put it into the Andalusian team’s net.

Betis did not show any dangerous attempts to equalise, to punish the hosts with the second goal. From a corner kick for the Blaugrana, the ball reached Araujo, who passed towards Lewandowski and hit the bottom right of goalkeeper Roy Silva in the 80th minute.

Betis reduced the score with the first goal, with a fatal mistake by Barcelona defender Jules Conde, who returned the ball to Ter Stegen, who accidentally put the ball into the Blaugrana net in the 85th minute.

Barcelona players kept their calm in the last minutes of the match, to collect 3 valuable points in their journey towards the title.
