Bayern Munich’ celebrations are disrupted by Mainz’s

Bayern Munich’ was defeated 1-3 away from home by Mainz in the 32nd round of the German League today, Saturday.

It was the first match after declaring them Bundesliga champions due to defeating Borussia Dortmund (3-1) in the previous round.

Jonathan Burkart, Moses Nyakate, and Leandro Barreiro scored a hat-trick for Mainz (18, 22, 57),

while Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal for the visitors (33′).

The hosts applied pressure to Sven Ulrich’s goal in the first ten minutes,

which almost resulted in a goal from defender Alexander Hack’s hard header, but the crossbar kept him out of the Bavarian nets.

After the wait in the result, the Bavarian team showed no reaction, giving the landowners the option to try again.

With the 27th minute, Mainz got what they wanted thanks to Nikati, who chased down a

ball provided by his colleague Stach with his head back and met it with a direct touch into the net.


After half an hour of play, Bayern had their first serious chance to score against Mainz,

when Chubu Moting crossed Kimmich’s cross and directed a header that went just wide of the post.

Inside the penalty area, Chubu Moting delivered a ball to Lewandowski, who received it,

twisted around with his body, and shot into the net, decreasing the score for the visitors.

Barreiro almost caught Ulrich’s net with a missile strike, but his ball went close to the post before the referee blew the halftime whistle, with the hosts leading 1-0. (2-1).

At the start of the second half, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann tried to make a change by

substituting Leroy Sane and Jamal Musila for Marcel Sabitzer and Leon Goretzka.

Despite Bayern’s command of the game and its attempts to reach goalie Robin Zentner’s net, the winds brought what the Bavarian ships did not want.
