The maple leaf team started winning, but they turned it around and they have run out of chances of advancing to the Round of 16.

Canada had to pay ‘floor rights’ to return to a World Cup after 36 years without achieving it and has become the second team mathematically eliminated from Qatar 2022 , falling 4-1 against Croatia .

Those of the maple leaf started winning. Alphonso Davies , his great star, put his team ahead with an accurate header before two minutes of play.

However, Croatia woke up and asserted its status as world runner-up and favorite to win the group, even ahead of Belgium , which has three points.

Andrej Kramaric of SG 1899 Hoffenheim equalized after 36 minutes and just moments before the first 45′, Marko Livaja

 turned it around at 44′.

For the wedge to tighten, Kramaric scored a brace at minute 69 and on aggregate, Perisic conceded a goal to Lovro Majer . This is how the Croatian victory came to fruition against a Canada that perhaps in its two games deserved less punishment, but with two defeats it says goodbye to Qatar 2022.

Now both Croatia and Morocco, who beat the Belgians , have four points, but by goals in favor the Balkan team occupies the first position.
