Chelsea pass Dortmund to the quarter-finals of the European Champions

Chelsea qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, by defeating its guest Borussia Dortmund (2-0), this evening, Tuesday, at Stamford Bridge, in the second leg of the final price of the tournament.

The Chelsea double was scored by Raheem Sterling (43) and Kai Havertz from a penalty kick (53), to qualify for the Blues, benefiting from losing the first leg with a goal without a response in Germany.

Dortmund suffered an early blow with a muscle injury suffered by Julian Brandt, to leave the field in the fifth minute and be replaced by Giovanni Reina.

Chelsea posed the first danger in the sixth minute when Joao Felix dodged Sully inside the area before he hit a ball that goalkeeper Meyer sent to a corner kick.

From that corner, Coulibaly rose to the cross, hitting a header that went wide of the goal.

Chelsea took advantage of the enthusiasm of the beginning, as Havertz received a through ball from Sterling inside the area in the eighth minute, to hit a ball that passed just past the post.

Dortmund almost opened the scoring in the 17th minute, with a violation from the border of the area, which was carried out by Royce, hitting a direct ball, which Kepa shone in tackling it.

Chelsea struggled with luck in the 28th minute, with Havertz following a ball away from Dortmund’s defense, to hit a direct ball that hit the post.

Chelsea continued its attempts with a powerful shot from Kovacic on the bird from outside the area, which went over the crossbar in the 33rd minute.

Chelsea missed a real chance to score in the 40th minute after Felix hit a ball from inside the area, and Meyer excelled in tackling it.

And the Blues continued to creep towards Dortmund’s goal, with a shot from Chilwell in the 42nd minute, which went wide of the goal.

Chelsea opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, after Sterling received a cross from the ground inside the area, bypassing Royce and firing a powerful ball into the net, to end the first half with the Blues advancing (1-0).

Chelsea started the second half by winning a penalty kick, after Chilwell’s cross collided with Wolfe, and the referee did not count the kick at first, before counting it after returning it to the var.

Havertz missed the penalty kick in the 50th minute, by hitting a ball to the left of the goalkeeper that hit the post, and the referee decided to return the kick because Dortmund players entered the area during implementation, and the German returned it in the same way, but the net was settled this time in the 53rd minute.

Dortmund missed a real opportunity to reduce the difference in the 58th minute, with Bellingham following a ball away from Chilwell inside the area, to hit a ball that passed just past the post.

Emery Chan tried to surprise Kiba with a curved shot from outside the area in the 61st minute, but the Spanish goalkeeper caught it.

Kepa returned to shine in the 65th minute, by blocking a powerful shot from Wolf.

The solution almost came to Dortmund from his defender Sully, with a powerful ground shot from outside the area in the 73rd minute, which passed next to the post.

In the 88th minute, Bellingham crossed the line, hitting a header that went over the crossbar, to end the match with Chelsea winning (2-0) and qualifying for the quarter-finals.
