Flick’s surprise gives Germany a friendly victory against Peru

Germany started its preparations for Euro 2024 with a friendly victory over Peru (2-0), in a match held in Mainz today, Saturday.
The Manchaft double was scored by Niklas Volkrug in the 12th and 33rd minutes, in his first match with the starting line-up at the international level.
The first dangerous attempt came from Marius Wolf’s shot on the edge of the penalty area, and his ball went past the post.
Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Galici blocked Schloterbeek’s header, preventing him from scoring early.
But the Peruvian goalkeeper could not withstand Volkrug’s shot, who set up a ball in front of him in the penalty area and met it with a direct shot into the net, leading the Manshafts with a first goal.
Werner had an opportunity after the ball reached him near the goal, but he strangely knocked it out of the field.
Volkrug returned to double the score for the hosts, after he met an elaborate cross from Wolf, with a direct touch into the net, to end the first half (2-0).
In the 54th minute, Peruvian players demanded a penalty kick for a handball on Volkrog, so the referee used video technology before clashes broke out between the players of the two teams.
