Inter makes an advanced storm to the Coppa Italia final!

Inter were victorious as they booked their spot in the Coppa Italia final by overcoming rivals Milan at San Siro.

Inter doubled their lead a few minutes before halftime

when Lautaro powerfully struck the net after a wonderful link-up with compatriot Joaquin Correa.

Inter’s fate was confirmed eight minutes from time as substitute Robin Gosens slipped in at the back

post to convert Marcelo Brozovi’s cut-back.

Simone Inzaghi’s team will now face either Juventus or Fiorentina in the final on May 11 in Rome.

Scorers: Lautaro Martínez 4′, 40′, Gosens 82′

After a goalless first leg, it took Lautaro Martínez a matter of minutes to open the scoring for the Nerazzurri in the second

with a powerful volley at the back post following Matteo Darmian’s cross.

Milan went in search of an equaliser and Ivan Perišić was forced to clear off the line as Inter weathered the storm.

Coppa Italia

Lautaro Martinez opened the score for Milan inside five minutes with a thunderous volley that Mike Maignan could only deflect into the top corner,

and it was 2-0 before halftime when the Argentine doubled his tally with a clinical finish after being played through.

Ismael Bennacer thought to have halved the deficit with a magnificent effort from outside the box,

but VAR ruled it out for apparent offside,

and Robin Gosens added some undeserved gloss to the scoreline.

The loss puts Inter’s chances of winning a trophy this season in jeopardy,

as Fiorentina or Juventus await them in the final.

It’s unclear what impact it will have on the title race, but the initial instinct is that it can’t be good.

Watch the strong goals of Inter Milan over AC Milan today!!

Inter’s advantage would be double seconds later as a outcome of the wasted chances. Joaquin Correa and Lautaro combined on a quick counter attack,

with the former slotting the latter in on goal as Tomori played him onside,

and the Argentine lifted the ball over Maignan to make it 2-0.

Pioli made two substitutions at halftime, knowing that they needed two goals to come back on level terms,

so with Junior Messias and Brahim Diaz replacing Saelemaekers and Tonali, respectively.

And With 18 minutes remaining, Bennacer was replace by Rade Krunic, and Calabria was replace by Matteo Gabbia,

with Kalulu transferring to right-back.

So, Robin Gosens stole in at the far post and diverted the ball into an empty net to put the game to bed inside the final ten minutes,

capping off a demoralising defeat.
