Kovacic leads Croatia to victory over Türkiye

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic led the Croatian national team to a 2-0 victory over its Turkish hosts in the second round of Group D qualifiers for the European Nations Cup “Euro 2024“.

Kovacic scored the first goal in the 20th minute and added the second goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time for the first half.

With this result, Croatia achieved its first victory in the qualifiers, raising its tally to 4 points in second place behind Wales, who beat Latvia tonight with a clean goal scored by Kiefer Morey in the 41st minute, giving his country the top of the group.

Turkey ranks third in the group with 3 points, then Armenia and Latvia come without a balance at the end of the standings.
