Liverpool continues its recovery with a hat-trick against Aston Villa
Liverpool achieved a valuable victory at the expense of its host, Aston Villa, with a score (3-1), this evening, Monday, at Villa Park, in the 17th round of the English Premier League.
The Liverpool hat-trick was scored by Mohamed Salah (5), Virgil van Dyck (37), and Stefan Baetic (81), while Ollie Watkins scored the only goal for Aston Villa (59).
With that result, Liverpool, who achieved its third consecutive victory in the Premier League, raised its score to 25 points in sixth place, while Aston Villa’s balance froze at 18 points in 12th place.
The first attempt in the match came in favor of Aston Villa in the first minute, after Watkins received a through ball inside the area, hitting a weak ball that was caught by Alisson.
Liverpool opened the scoring early in the fifth minute after Arnold sent a through on the right side of Robertson, who in turn passed directly to Salah, who was free of control inside the area so that the Egyptian star easily scored the ball into the net.
Aston Villa tried to respond quickly, with a shot from Bailey from the right side of the penalty area in the ninth minute, and Alisson caught it.
Aston Villa wasted a real opportunity to adjust in the 17th minute, after Watkins, who was unmarked inside the area, followed a cross with a header that was blocked by the Brazilian goalkeeper.
And Liverpool almost added the second goal in the 28th minute, after Konsa was confused in deflecting a ball, to pave the way for Nunez, who singled out Olsen and hit a ball on the bird, the goalkeeper shone in tackling it.
Salah then received a pass on the right side of the penalty area in the 31st minute, hitting a ground ball that passed next to the post.
Liverpool added the second goal in the 37th minute, after Salah paved the ball to Van Dyck inside the area, so the Dutchman fired a direct ball that hit the net.
