The Belgium national team started its qualifiers for the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) in Germany, by defeating its Swedish host, 3-0, today, Friday, in the first round of Group Six matches.
In the other match in the same group, Austria defeated Azerbaijan (4-1).
And at the Friends Arena stadium, the Belgium national team owes credit for its victory over its Swedish host to Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, who scored three goals (hat-trick) in the 35th, 49th, and 83rd minutes.
And at the Wald-Pasching Stadium, the Austrian national team won its victory over Azerbaijan, thanks to the goals of Marcel Sabitzer, the English midfielder of Manchester United, in the 28th and 50th minutes, and the goal of Michael Gregoric, the German striker, Freiburg, in the 29th minute.
Emin Makhmudov responded with a goal for Azerbaijan in the 64th minute, but Christoph Baumgartner, the German Hoffenheim player, confirmed Austria’s victory by scoring the fourth goal in the 69th minute.
