The start came as a surprise to the hosts after Augsburg managed to score an early goal after less than two minutes through Berisha, who overtook Davies inside the penalty area before firing a low shot into the net.

Cancelo was the owner of the first Bavarian attempts after he penetrated into the penalty area and fired a ground shot with his left, which went weak into the arms of goalkeeper Gekiewicz.

And after only 3 minutes, Pavard was able to meet Mane’s cross from the scissor, with a direct touch on the bird into the net, scoring the goal of Bavarian progress.

Augsburg appeared dangerous again with a shot from Meyer, but the ball settled into the arms of Sumer easily, before Sani responded with a long-range shot over the crossbar.

Pavard reappeared inside the Augsburg penalty area, scoring his second goal and his team’s third, with an imaginary shot from a flying position, which the guests’ goalkeeper was unable to counter.

Mane was also close to making his mark with a left-footed shot from the heart of the penalty area, but the Augsburg goalkeeper was on the lookout for it.

Before the end of the original time of the first half, Sani followed a ball that bounced off Gikiwisz, to meet it with his head into the net, so that Bayern went to the break ahead (4-1).

At the beginning of the second half, Mane received a pass inside the penalty area before putting the ball into the net, but the assistant referee raised his flag for being in offside.

The Senegalese star returned to make a new attempt with a long shot, but the ball went over the crossbar before Vargas answered him with a similar shot, which ended in the same way.

The guest team won a penalty kick in the 60th minute, from which Berisha scored a second goal for him and his team.

Cancelo sent an elaborate cross towards Davies inside the area, to be met by the latter with a direct touch to the net, reinforcing his team’s progress with the fifth goal.

Augsburg almost reduced the score after a start from Vargas on the left side, anchoring a cross that almost turned into a goal, but the assistant referee raised his flag, pointing to offside.

Bayern players decided to kill the pace of the match to absorb the enthusiasm of the guests, to avoid conceding a third goal in the last minutes.

Nevertheless, Augsburg was able to add the third goal moments before the end of the match from a cross that Cardona met with a slide and a direct touch into the net.
