Liverpool 1, West Ham United 0 : The Reds Keep Winning!

Pre-Match

The Reds has a very good team on the field to face the Hammers.

Jürgen Klopp makes eight changes from the side that won the FA Cup on Wednesday against Norwich City.

Despite a number of injuries,

With a win, the Reds can sustain the pressure on Manchester City,

getting back within three points and equal on games played.

West Ham is one of the teams attempting to avoid slipping into fourth place in the table.

First Half

Liverpool got off to a fast start in the first half, with Trent Alexander-Arnold putting

Mohamed Salah through on goal down the right flank in the first minute!

but Fabianski stood tall and saved the 1v1 chance.

Mo had another chance a few minutes later,

this time when Jordan Henderson slipped the ball into the area for him,

but the ball was tackled away with a last-ditch challenge.

Salah is requesting a penalty,

but no one is willing to give it to him. The Reds,

on the other hand, put up a lot of early pressure.

You guys, Luis Diaz is fantastic. In the box, he just executed a fast juggling,

flipping the ball over his head before swiveling to hit a volley that was sadly stopped.

Salah was left wanting again as the ball bounced to him, and his attempt dribbled wide of the post.

Despite Mohamed Salah being mugged all over the field,

John Moss continues his streak of being an absolute jerk, refusing to call a penalty in his favour on several occasions.

LIVERPOOL GOAL!!! Sadio Mané is the one who puts the Reds ahead!

Watch the amazing goal of Sadio Mané!!

Naby Keita passes the ball over to Trent Alexander-Arnold as Liverpool slowly work the ball around the offensive third.

Trent hits a bouncing volley shot after scooping the ball out of the air with his chest. Mané gets a toe to the shot and tucks it home from close range,

beating the keeper and a defender. VAR is checking for offside,

but Sadio perfectly timed his run and was just on!

Second Half

Liverpool start the second half off controlling possession,

keeping the ball in the West Ham half for the first few minutes.

West Ham get a lucky bounce on a long clearance up towards Antonio,

and Jarrod Bowen catches Konaté sitting too deep,

making a run in behind him to get to the ball.

dse

Andy Robertson races back and slides in to clear the ball back off of Bowen to divert danger and give Liverpool a goal kick.

Bowen goes down with what looks like an ankle or calf injury during the next sequence,

and has trouble bearing weight as he is helped off the field.

West Ham are forced to make their first sub,

with Said Benrahama coming in for Bowen in the minute 54th minute.

On the counter, West Ham break forward once more,

putting Liverpool under strain.

Michail Anotnio spreads the ball to Andy Robertson, who lines him up and cuts inside of him.

Naby Keita steps in and tackles the ball away before Anotnio can get the shot off, thankfully.

Sadio Mané is requesting a penalty after his shot deflected off Kurt Zouma’s hand.

Of course, Moss swats it away.

The ball did definitely strike Zouma’s hand, although his arms were down by his side,

and the shot came from approximately a yard away, according to the replay.

It would have been a harsh call to make.

In the 93rd minute, West Ham makes one final substitution,

sending on Daniel Chester’s for Pablo Fornals.

Final Thoughts and Man of the Match

Liverpool were dominant early, but only put away one of their many opportunities. West Ham pushed hard for an equalizer, and missed a big opportunity from Lanzini.

The Reds managed to hang on and see the game out to pull back within three points of Manchester City,

to keep the pressure on the Citizen’s ahead of their derby match tomorrow. The win takes Liverpool’s streak to seven wins in a row.
