It was confirmed that Neymar da Silva and Danilo will miss the remaining matches of the Brazil national team in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup, after they were injured during the confrontation with Serbia, yesterday, Thursday.
According to the famous journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Tite, the Brazil coach, received very bad news. Where he will have to dispense with Neymar and Danilo, in the next two matches in the group stage, due to their ankle injuries.
He added that Neymar was injured in the second half of the match, and went off in the 80th minute, while the right-back remained on the field until the end.
He pointed out that the duo will miss the matches against Switzerland and Cameroon in the second and third rounds of the group stage.
And the team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, announced, on Friday, in a video broadcast by the Brazilian Football Confederation, that Neymar suffers from a “collateral ligament injury” to the ankle, while defender Danilo, in turn, sprained the ankle.
He concluded, “The two players will not be available in our next match, but they are continuing their treatment with the aim of restoring their services in time for the rest of the tournament.”
It is noteworthy that the Brazilian national team defeated its Serbian counterpart, 2-0, to top the Group G table, equal with Switzerland.
