Australia coach Tony Popovic made a bold call to bring on veteran goalkeeper Mat Ryan for the shootout, but it backfired as Egypt scored all four penalties. Mohamed Salah delighted the crowd with a cheeky Panenka down the middle, while Harry Souttar ballooned his kick over and 18-year-old Lucas Herrington hit the crossbar. Egypt will now face Argentina or Cape Verde in the Round of 16 in Atlanta.
